A 76ª edição do Primetime Emmy Awards começou aconteceu nesse domingo, 15 de setembro. Os comediantes e dupla de pai e filho Eugene e Dan Levy foram os apresentadores do evento. O evento desta noite viu uma enxurrada de vitórias para a série de sucesso da FX Shogun, que mudou de minissérie para a categoria de Melhor Drama após a rede optar por renová-la para duas temporadas adicionais. Fallout da Amazon Prime Video também conseguiu várias indicações, incluindo algumas vitórias já durante o Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Este ano também marca a primeira vez sem Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon ou Succession concorrendo ao principal prêmio de Drama.
No lado da comédia, The Bear e Abbott Elementary disputaram as indicações de Comédia, após vitórias em anos anteriores.
